Road Racing Format, Costs, Info, and 2008 Schedule

So... racing is really fun! I hope everyone is psyched.... Here are some details about the logistics of the spring season.

2008 ECCC Schedule:

March 1-2 Rutgers
March 8-9 Philly
March 15-16 Columbia/Princeton
March 22-23 Pittsburg
March 29-30 Penn State
April 5-6 Army
April 12-13 Boston Beanpot
April 19-20 UVM
April 26-27 Easterns at Dartmouth

Out of all these I'm thinking we will do Rutgers, Philly or Columbia/Princeton, then all the races in April.
Race weekends start with Team Time Trials early Sat morning. We haven't done these in the past, but hopefully we can do them now since we have enough people. After the TTT, the road race starts. There are 4 catergories: A,B,C,D and D start first , usually around 9 or 10. The D road races are 25-40 miles. On Sunday there are criteriums for each catergory. The D race is 30 minutes and generally we can get out of there by noon.
Depending on where the race is and whether we do the TTT saturday morning, we will stay overnight Friday, and definitely stay overnight Saturday. I believe some people will only be doing the Saturday races so that is also an option.

Costs:
Hotels: Union gives us 4 x $85 bucks in hotels. We will prob do 6 race weekends. Both Rich and I live near Boston so that leaves us with 3 weekends to pay for hotels ourselves. If we do 2 nights @$85 and 8people, it would be about $20 bucks for each person for 3 weekends. We can also ally ourselves with Union, and they have their own budget, so we can split a room if we don't have too many people that weekend.
Gas:
We get 25 cents per mile plus half of travel costs. So it seems we will be able to pay not too much for gas. For example, if we drive 100 miles at 20mpg at $3.30 / gallon, we use $16.50 in gas. $8.25 will be paid for by the Union and the owner of the car gets $25. So.... whoever drives technically "makes" $19 but that can cover the other half of the gas cost. Confusing? Yes. Deal with it.
We also have $300 to rent some vans so that will be a big pimping weekend in the econolines.
Entry fees:
I don't remember if it's $7.50 per race or $10. The union pays for half. We have $750 in race fees. So....you won't pay more than $10 per weekend if you do 2 races.
